To answer the question - yes, you have to connect any activity to a customer account.
But what if the activity has nothing to do with a customer?

If the activity has nothing to do with a customer you can, instead of selecting a customer to link the activity to, create an internal account. For example, you can create one for yourself as a user or for the company. See examples below.

  1. Start by creating an account for internal activities. Then create one or several contacts linked to the account, for example the sellers in your team.

2. Then add the activity and find the account you just created. The person responsible for the internal activity can, for example, be the person holding the activity or the person who added it.

This also applies to opportunities and orders.
