Sometimes we must create quotes with the same characteristics as others we have already created. Maybe we are repeating a quote for a certain a route for a client or replicating certain payment conditions for another. In Cargofive we have two ways to create them with much less effort.
We are going to explore the two options and their different characteristics.
First, we will head to the quotes module:
Head to any quote and pres on the 3 dot "..." button
Quote Duplicate
This feature quickly creates an identical copy of the selected quote. It's a handy way to save time when you need multiple quotes with the same content.
All the info on the quote will be duplicated except for the Custom Reference, that means client, incoterm, local charges, profits, sale templates, price levels… will be duplicated to the new quote
✨Note: Even the currency equivalence will be duplicated. It won’t be updated to the current change so be careful with that ⚠️
Use as Template
This feature allows you to repeat the same exact search you did to obtain the original quote. This is particularly useful for keeping your rates up to date for the upcoming months as it replicates the same characteristics of the original search query.
The fields replicated when using the Use as Template feature include, price levels filters for specific carriers or containers, the specific company or whether to show the local charges or overweight on the results or not. Also sale template applied on the quote will be applied to the resulting new quote.
This makes this new search almost a perfect twin of the original one except for obviously the date which will switch to the current one, and the new filters feature that is only available on the new rate finder. This happens because currently**, the Use as template redirects you to the OLD rate finder** not the newest version, so you won’t be able to apply filters after the search has been performed or see Quick Quotes Spot rates as this results are only available on the new version of the Rate Finder.
✨Note: In case that in the new search you select a different carrier keep in mind to review the local charges, specially if you had a Sales Template on the original quote
✨Keep in mind that Use as template is meant to recreate the same conditions for the search, this means no info of the quote other than the sale template will be duplicated. Duplicate however, recreates the quote itself, therefore sale template, profit, type of Incoterm, local charges, remarks and inland.
