Quick overview:

With Pass-through shipping, suppliers can get paid for shipping and add shipping names to Carro orders.

  • To be reimbursed for shipping costs, it needs to be agreed upon by your retail partner. Find your partner's contact information in the Partners tab.

  • The rates can't be dynamic or variable (e.g. Free shipping over $x or lbs).

  • This feature is limited to a single shipping rate and name per country (e.g. $3.99 - Standard Shipping / U.S.).

  • It's not required to collect shipping costs. If you only need to have a shipping method added to Carro orders, we can support this.

  • For Retailers: Pass-through shipping is "hard-coded" in Carro's backend, meaning the additional fee is collected from the retailer and paid to the supplier, regardless of what the customer paid for shipping. In other words, the shipping charge isn't automatically passed to the customer. If the retailer wishes to collect this additional shipping charge from their customer, they will need to update the shipping profile for the supplier's items.

Activate pass-through shipping:

To activate pass-through shipping, provide the Carro team with the following:
1) The name of your shipping method (e.g. Standard Shipping or Free Shipping)

2) The price of your shipping rate (e.g. $4.99 or $0.00)

3) Proof of an agreement with your retail partner stating that they accept this rate in their store. Carro recommends that you email your partner to ask if it's okay to begin charging them $X for shipping. Once agreed, forward the agreement to the Carro team through Intercom or via email. You can find your partner's contact information in the Partners tab.

Once you have all of the above, reach out to the support team via intercom or support@getcarro.com and we can enable Pass-through for your partnership(s).
