Browsing Our Database of Statutes, Regulations, and Rules

You can browse Casetext’s database of statutes, regulations, and rules by clicking on the section symbol underneath the search bar.

This will take you to our codified law library, where you can browse or search for specific statutes, codes, and regulations. To find a specific statute, code or regulation, click on the blue link for the name of the specific law you want to see:

Searching for a Specific Statute, Regulation, or Rule

You can search within a body of codified law for a specific statute, regulation, or rule. For example, as shown below, you can search through the United States Code to find a specific statute, 11 U.S.C. sec. 101. To do so, you can use the "search within" function and pull up the statute by keyword. Alternatively, you can click on the title, chapter, and/or section containing your statute:

When you find the specific statute you need, you'll be able to read and scroll through it. If you would like to move to a different title, chapter, or section, you can easily do that by clicking on it within the table of contents that appears on the left-hand side of the page.

You can also search within the specific section by entering your keyword search terms in the open field above the table of contents.

If you'd like to hide the table of contents as you read, you can do that by clicking on the blue "X Hide Table of Contents" link in the top left above the "Search within this section..." field.

You can always click on the "Table of Contents" button on the left-hand side to expand it again.
