Linking your accounts

How to add your savings, credit, super, shares or any other accounts to the Dashboard, and what to do if they're not linking.

Step one if you're setting up your app—this is where you’ll land after your first tutorial. You’ll add all your accounts here, and then head to your Dashboard to organise them.

Adding accounts 

Firstly, on the Link accounts page, see if your bank is displayed on the screen. If it is, click on it and enter the login details you use for internet banking. If you don’t see it on the list, enter the name of your financial institution in the Search for your institution field and we’ll look for it. 

If it’s not an Australian site, choose the country under the Search bar.

A notice will pop up letting you know we’re linking your account. If you’d like to see how it’s going, just click on the All notifications tab in the side menu, or the bell in the top corner.

Note: We rely on the banks for the response time, so they can vary, sometimes it can take up to half an hour.  Keep an eye on your Dashboard messages to see what’s happening.

Once your account is ready to go, we’ll send you a confirmation email, and you’ll see a “Transferring data” message on your Dashboard just before the account appears.

Note: Right now we can’t link accounts requiring requiring multi-factor authentication. We’re working on it and we'll let you know when we have this feature.

If your bank isn't on our list

Make sure you check the name of your account. Some institutions have a lot of account types, often with similar names. We suggest you login to your online banking site and check the exact spelling of your bank and account. If it isn’t on our list, just add the name into the Search field and we’ll check it for you.

If we still don’t find your bank, simply fill in their name and website in the fields provided, as well as any other info you think we might need—like the type of account you have with them—and press the Submit button. We’ll have a look and update you within 48 hrs.

If your account seems to be taking a while to link

If you think it’s taking too long to see your account in your Dashboard, there are a few ways to find out how it’s progressing.

Head to the All notifications tab in your side menu, or the bell icon up top. This is where we send all your messages. If you click on the tab, you will see the progress of any accounts you have just added.  We will also email you along the way. 

If the account doesn’t link and we haven’t notified you why (for example, incorrect login details), refresh the page in your browser. 

If it still doesn’t appear, just send us a message in the Help bubble and we’ll let you know what’s happening.
