Below you will find some information about our Cat Chef meals and the most common diseases.

*The information in this FAQ is for informational purposes only and cannot replace the advice of your own veterinarian. This FAQ is not intended to diagnose or treat diseases. 🧑‍⚕️

  • Cancer:
If your cat has cancer, Cat Chef recipes are adapted as they alleviate the burden on the immune system. If your cat has a specific form of cancer, feel free to contact our veterinarians for more information.

  • Hyperthyroidism:
If your cat suffers from hyperthyroidism, it can eat our fresh Cat Chef meals without any problems unless it needs a low-iodine diet.

  • Heart problems:
If your cat has heart problems, it can eat our recipes without issues, as they are enriched with taurine.

  • Diabetes:
Diabetic patients can have normal weight, be overweight, or too thin. Since they need a low glycemic index diet to stabilize their sugar levels, Cat Chef is suitable for most patients. However, feel free to ask for more information or show the composition of our recipes to your veterinarian.

  • Gastrointestinal problems:
Many cats with gastrointestinal problems feel better by eating fresh meals. Sometimes, gastrointestinal problems like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) also have an immunological component. That's why we recommend the duck recipe for these cats.

  • Pancreatitis/Triad:
If your cat has pancreatitis or triad, the recipes may be too fatty depending on the case. You'll need to ask your vet if you can give Cat Chef recipes during the acute phase of the disease. Probably, you'll have to wait for your cat's recovery.

  • Urolithiasis/crystals and/or bladder stones:
If your cat has crystals or stones in its urine, we recommend following your vet's advice. Dissolving bladder stones is not possible with our fresh meals, but the meals can often be administered preventively once your cat is healthy.

  • Renal insufficiency:
If your cat has renal insufficiency, we recommend following your vet's advice. There are different stages and forms of renal insufficiency, so a good knowledge of your pet's file is important.

  • Liver disease:
We can help many patients with liver diseases, but not all liver diseases are the same. Some cats, for example, do not tolerate fats, as in the case of cholangiohepatitis, while others benefit from them. We recommend asking your vet if Cat Chef recipes are suitable for your cat's situation.

  • Skin problems:
Your cat with skin problems can eat our fresh Cat Chef recipes without any issues. Skin problems may also have an immunological component, but this component is often not related to food. If that's the case with your cat, you can try the duck meal.

  • Joint problems:
If your cat has joint problems, it can eat our Cat Chef recipes without any issues.

  • Other diseases:
Other common diseases in cats are feline immunodeficiency or asthma. In both cases, Cat Chef is suitable because it does not contain any pathogens that could overload the immune system. Gingivitis is also a common condition, and Cat Chef can help because it does not contain hard pieces. Some cats may not like it because the food can stick to their gums, so it's worth trying.
