CauseVox primarily uses Stripe to process donations because of it's ease of use for both admins and donors. However, we do offer PayPal as an option for users that can't access Stripe.
- For more information on each processor, please visit our articles "Donation Processing With Stripe" and "Donation Processing With PayPal."
To set up your donation processing, follow the steps below:
Step 1: In your Settings, click on “Payment Processing” along the left menu bar and view the Payment Processor section at the top of the page.
Step 2: If you've connected a Stripe account previously, you'll be able to select it, confirm, and save the page.
If you haven't connected a Stripe account previously, you can select "Connect A New Stripe Account" and you'll be directed to a one-page form where you can fill out your bank details to set up a Stripe account or sign into your existing Stripe account.
If you're setting up a Stripe account, once you've filled out the form, you can select“Authorize access to this account” at the bottom of the page to complete setup.
The good news is that Stripe has discounted fees for nonprofits, (2.2% + $0.30 per transaction) which you can access by emailing email@example.com.
You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are required to use PayPal for donation processing.
We don't recommend PayPal, as it offers you and your donors a subpar experience.
