There are a variety of options to choose from when sharing a test-fit in CBRE Plans. From the test-fit editor page, click on the “Share” button in the top right hand corner to explore the different options available.

PDF or CAD

The first option you have is to either download the 2D test fit to a PDF or CAD file. This will download directly to your device, for you to share.

Public Link

The second option is to create a Public Link. A public link can be created for your testfit and shared freely, by simply copying the URL generated. Any recipient with this link can view the floorplan in both 2D and 3D. Anyone with this link can make adjustments to the office layout, without requiring a log-in to the Plans platform. However the changes made to the testfit via this link will not save and will revert to the original layout once the browser window is closed or refreshed.

The layout shared through a Public link can only be adjusted by the account holder. This option is best for sharing on a larger scale or to embed into online collateral such as brochures or websites. Remember, as the recipient will see the title of this test fit, its best to rename it before sharing, to something you feel most appropriate. You can do so, using the box in the top left-hand corner. If you delete the original testfit, the public link will consequently no longer exist.

Collaborative Link

The third sharing option is to create a Collaborative link. Collaborative links enable the recipient to view the test fit in 2D and 3D without a log-in but, the changes they make will be saved automatically. This is why it is required to fill out the recipient’s name and email before generating the unique link, created specifically for one person to edit and view.

For example, a link is created John Smith. Once the link is copied and sent in the manner you desire, John can open the link, making changes to the layout such as adding more offices to the floorplan. If John closes this testfit and re-opens the unique URL link at another time, he will see the changes he made earlier in the day and continue to make adjustments as needed.

This option is best used for collaboration with team members, who may want to change the office layout via your testfit. This is also a great way for clients to interact with your testfit, working alongside each other to create a layout which best suits their needs. With Collaboration links, you can track the recipients interaction via the Sent Spaces tab on your Plans Dashboard.

The sent spaces tab at the top of your Plans page provides insights how often a collaborative link has been viewed, how many edits the recipient has made to the testfit and how long they have spent in 3D. By providing the information such as name and email, it enables you to understand how engaged users are with different testfits, floors or buildings.
