Here are different reasons why the Excel formula is not calculated:
Troubleshooting
1. The formula is entered as a text
One of the main reasons why Excel formulas or not calculating is that the cell has been formatted as text.
To validate the setting, select the formula cell
Go to Home tab> Number format
Change the cell format to General. Click the cell and enter the formula to recalculate and display the value
Here’s a clip on how to change the cell format to display the calculated value:
2. The formula has a leading space or apostrophe before the equal sign
If you have a space or apostrophe entered before the equal sign, it will be treated as text and will not calculate the formula.
To fix this, simply remove the leading space or single quote.
