State Training Program:

The Iowa Program for Alcohol Compliance Training (I-PACT) is the state’s responsible alcohol management program, designed to educate alcohol sellers and servers on the legal and safe handling of alcohol sales. Administered by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD), I-PACT focuses on preventing illegal alcohol sales to underage individuals and intoxicated patrons.

The training covers important topics, including verifying IDs, recognizing signs of intoxication, understanding Iowa's alcohol laws, and handling difficult situations effectively. It is a free, online training program available to employees of establishments licensed to sell or serve alcohol in Iowa.

While I-PACT is not mandatory statewide, some businesses and municipalities may require it as part of their employee training. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate that remains valid for two years. The program promotes responsible alcohol service and fosters safer communities across Iowa.
