We're not lawyers—just friendly helpers! 🍻 This document isn’t intended to serve as legal advice. Alcohol laws are like recipes—every city, county, and state has its own unique regulations. For the most accurate guidance on local rules, reach out to your state liquor control board (they're the real experts here). While Certivance provides resources and keeps an eye on state-level regulations, always double-check with your local authorities—because even the best need a second opinion! 😉

State Training Program:

Missouri offers the State of Missouri Alcohol Responsibility Training (SMART) Online Server Training Program, which is a free, interactive course designed to educate individuals involved in the sale and service of alcoholic beverages about their legal obligations. The program covers essential topics such as understanding the laws governing alcohol service, managing situations involving intoxicated customers, and creating policies and procedures to reduce liability risks associated with alcohol service. It also provides training on verifying identification to prevent underage sales and strategies for detecting false IDs.

Although Missouri does not require alcohol server training for all employees, certain individuals, such as those providing alcohol samples on licensed retail premises, are required to complete an approved training program. The SMART program is accessible online, making it convenient for employees to complete the training at their own pace. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate, which may be required by employers or local jurisdictions. Additionally, establishments that complete the training may be eligible for insurance discounts on liability premiums. Overall, the SMART program helps promote responsible alcohol service, ensuring compliance with state regulations, enhancing public safety, and reducing the risk of alcohol-related incidents.
