We're not lawyers—just friendly helpers! 🍻 This document isn’t intended to serve as legal advice. Alcohol laws are like recipes—every city, county, and state has its own unique regulations. For the most accurate guidance on local rules, reach out to your state liquor control board (they're the real experts here). While Certivance provides resources and keeps an eye on state-level regulations, always double-check with your local authorities—because even the best need a second opinion! 😉

State Training Program:
Oklahoma, the Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement (ABLE) Commission mandates that all individuals involved in the sale or service of alcoholic beverages complete an approved training program. This requirement, effective since October 1, 2018, aims to ensure that employees are well-versed in responsible alcohol service and compliance with state regulations.
The Responsible Beverage Sales and Service (RBSS) training program, developed in partnership between the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and the ABLE Commission, provides owners, managers, and servers with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve and sell alcohol responsibly. This program is offered free of charge and focuses on Oklahoma-specific alcohol merchant education.
Upon completion of an approved training course, employees must provide a certificate of training completion to the ABLE Commission. This can be done by mail, in person, or through electronic submission. The certification is valid for three years, after which re-certification is required to maintain compliance.
By adhering to these training requirements, establishments not only comply with state laws but also contribute to the safety and well-being of their patrons and the broader community.
