Is Change Round-up safe? This is an important question.

Let us share with you how our platform technology and our amazing partners result in industry-leading security protocols. There are 3 components to our technology that make change round-up possible.

First, is our technology that provides all the frontend features like our personal donor dashboards, parent dashboards, and student fundraising pages is a robust solution, hosted by Amazon Web Services and completely secure. We do not store any financial data, credit card data or banking information on our platform. We leave that to our two industry-leading partners.

Our first partner is Stripe.

If you have ever used a debit or credit card to buy something at Target or Amazon, the payment processing of your transaction was handled by Stripe. Let us brag on them for a second. You can learn more about Stripe on their website but here is what you probably want to know most. Stripe is the leading technology for the economic infrastructure of the Internet. They are the payment processing component that supports millions of small businesses and publicly traded companies alike. They have a robust platform that allows companies, like Hello Donor, to integrate with their systems and benefit from their industry-leading security. Stripe maintains the strictest levels of PII Compliance.

If you are not aware, PII stands for Personally Identifiable Information. What does this mean? Stripe encrypts every transaction, every credit card and every bit of user data they receive. If it helps you get an idea of their security and their dedication to protecting data, do a Google search for “has Stripe ever been hacked” and you won’t find any articles about actual hackings or lost data. That is impressive!

Our next partner is Plaid.

Plaid is owned by Visa. They secure financial institutions like your local and global bank accounts. Most likely, if you have ever logged into an online banking system, you have used Plaid’s services. They help banks with user accounts and secure access to online banking systems.

How do we use Plaid to serve you?

When you sign up for Change Round-up, our system needs to calculate how much change should be donated to the organization you are supporting. When you authorize change round-up, our partner Plaid, will pull your transaction data needed to calculate your change. If you have used Venmo, Acorns, or any other technology that syncs with your bank account, you have experienced the benefits of Plaid. Plaid has analyzed over 10 billion transactions. You can rest assured that your sensitive information is secured by industry-leading standards.

Like Stripe, Plaid maintains all the PII compliance and global servers to protect consumers and banks. We partnered with both of these companies because they are the best in the business and we want to be the best in our business.

If you have further questions, please ask, we are here to help.
