Use the Message Center feed to review Microsoft 365 announcements and decide what your organisation needs to investigate, prepare or communicate.

Choose a starting view

  • All Items: browse the available Message Center dataset.

  • Actionable includes items Microsoft categorises as Prevent or fix issue or Plan for change. Plan for action is not a supported category.

  • New Items: find recently added announcements using the available time periods.

  • Upcoming: review items with deployment starts in the selected future window.

  • High Admin Impact: prioritise items rated High for administrators.

  • High User Impact: prioritise user-experience and adoption changes.

  • Preview Dates: find items with a recorded preview date.

Review an announcement

  1. Open Message Center and choose a view.

  2. Use the available product, change-category or impact filters to narrow the results.

  3. Select an item title to open its detail page. In Cards layout, expand the item for an inline review.

  4. Read the ChangePilot summary for context, then the Microsoft message for the original instructions and rollout details.

  5. Check Action required by, release dates and History, where supplied.

  6. Use Open in the Microsoft 365 admin center when you need to check the original message for your tenant.

The item ID, such as an MC-prefixed number, is the best reference to include in a question, meeting note or work item.

Decide what happens next

Check whether your organisation uses the affected service, platform and configuration. Decide whether the announcement needs an administrator task, an adoption communication, monitoring or no action. Bookmark it for later reading or Watch it for activity tracking.

Why two people may see different messages

Microsoft targets Message Center messages by tenant. The standard feed is not a complete statement of what applies to your organisation. Connected-tenant access and each person's authorised data can change the results. Filters can also hide an item: start from All Items and remove restrictions before concluding it is missing.

Deferred and related items

Use Deferred Items for announcements with deferred rollout dates. Expanded details can include preview, release, deferred and cloud-specific windows when provided. Related-item links connect relevant Message Center and Roadmap records; follow each link to assess its own wording and dates.
