  1. Is your Facebook Ads count filter intended to be all time or active?

    1. It currently tracks ads run all time.

  2. What do all these filters mean on the Prospector?

    1. Check out filters/metrics and definitions here.

  3. On Charm’s homepage, it says you have 4M brands but I see less when I login to the prospector. Why is that?

    1. To see all the brands, make sure all filters are removed- including the country filter. Websites don't belong to countries so at times it can be difficult to assess. We use a combination of factors to determine what country a brand is designated to. Also, there are many large brands that have domains in many countries ie .jp for japan or .mx for Mexico. To see all brands simply perform a search with no filters.

  4. How does the Chrome Extension work?

    1. Visit any brand or retailer, and Charm’s chrome extension will pull up their brand report

  5. How do you evaluate website traffic?
-Semrush Traffic Rank: Measure of traffic counts compared to all other brands.
-Semrush Traffic Measure: The actual website visits per month
-Semrush Traffic Growth - 3 Months: Percentile change of traffic in the last 3 month
-Traffic Growth Score: Charm measure of traffic growth relative to all other brands. This signal uses multiple sources of data to make a very robust comprehensive analysis of what brands are growing their traffic the fastest

  6. When we filter or search leads by vertical, how accurate are the categories you use? How are you guys figuring out which category / vertical a business belongs to?

    1. We use a combination of Google's taxonomy and product keywords to determine the category. When assigning categories for millions of brands it is difficult to be 100% accurate. The feedback from our customers is that our category designation is very good, but if you find one you don't think is accurate please let us know.

  7. How are results ranked in the product search bar?

    1. We surface brands with high growth score and a success score between 30 and 80, and try to have specialized brands rather than generic ones. We also consider the following:

      1. If the product is advertised (if yes, boost)

      2. Is the product featured on the front page of the site?

      3. Top Selling Position (Shopify only)

      4. Number of product matches for that brand

  8. What's the best way to filter out Marketplaces on my results?

    1. Create a list with all Amazon brands, all Nordstrom, and all ThriveMarket and then exclude that list from your query.
