ChatPRD’s document functionality has received a significant update, providing a streamlined, efficient way to manage multiple documents directly within the platform. This article will guide you through the new features and show you how to make the most of them.

Key Features of the Update

Automatic Document Creation and Saving

ChatPRD can now automatically create and save your documents. When you ask ChatPRD to write a document, it will save it for you in real-time as updates are streamed. This ensures your work is never lost and allows for seamless continuity in document creation.

Multiple Documents Per Chat

Managing documents has never been easier with the ability to create and handle multiple documents in a single chat. This feature allows you to toggle effortlessly between different types of documents, such as PRDs, Marketing Launch documents, and PRFAQs, without ever leaving your chat.

Live Document Editing

The updated real-time editor enables you to make inline edits to documents as they are being written. ChatPRD provides suggestions for improving clarity and specificity, and you can request it to rewrite or expand specific sections to meet your needs. The editor also allows you to integrate feedback directly into the document.

You can also take advantage of the document editor's AI updates, that enable you to simplify, adjust tone, translate your document and so much more.

Workflow Example: Writing and Managing Multiple Documents

Start by asking ChatPRD to help you write a document. Select your desired template, such as the classic PRD template, and provide a feature or idea. ChatPRD will create a document based on your input, using its knowledge of your preferences and prior interactions. You can view the document being written in side-by-side mode and make edits or ask for improvements in real time.

If you need to create an additional document from the same chat, switch to a different template, such as a PRFAQ, and provide instructions for the new document. For instance, you might ask ChatPRD to write a PRFAQ for your marketing team to explain the value propositions of the feature. With the document switcher, you can toggle between the PRD and PRFAQ seamlessly, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

Tips for Using the Updated Features

To maximize these new capabilities, ensure your profile is up-to-date. Navigate to Account Settings, select the Profile tab, and click “Save Profile” to activate your preferences.

Additionally, check out the various templates available to cater to different teams and purposes. Providing clear, specific instructions to ChatPRD will yield the best results, helping you produce high-quality documentation swiftly and effectively.
