What is a claim/complaint?

A consumer has the right to report a complaint. In other words, the buyer has the right to make the seller aware of products that have not been delivered in terms of the original agreement or contract.

The customer's claim rights give them the power to claim that you improve, fix, redo the work, give a price reduction and as a last alternative, cancel the deal and claim their money back. When they come with a claim, you are obligated to investigate the situation, and alternatively resolve the issue at hand.

How to handle claims with CHECKD

To keep track of and document claims in CHECKD, you should separate claims from other 'Items' (tasks).

  • One way to do this is to create a separate project where you only register claims.

  • Another more recommended solution is that you use the same project that you used to register 'Items', and use the tag 'Claim' on the 'Items' you create. You could also use additional tags such as subject tags, e.g. carpenter, plumber, electrician and etc. With this option, you can collect all the data in one and the same project, and easily separate claims from other 'Items', and even separate claims related to carpenter work, plumber work, and so on.

  • In the title and/or description of each item, it can also be beneficial to add information about the buyer/seller.

When you have registered all your claims you can generate and send a report.

When you have generated a report you can send the report as a digital link, or you can export a PDF version and send that.
