Changing Your iPhone Settings (HEIC to JPG)
Updated over 3 months ago

Before you start photographing your next Photo Shoot, check out the steps below to make this simple change to your iPhone camera!

Settings

While in 'Settings', scroll down and tap 'Camera'.

Formats

On the next screen, tap 'Formats'.

Most Compatible

Then make sure 'Most Compatible' is selected, and you're done! This will change the file type of any new photos you take from HEIC to JPG!

Why Make the Change from HEIC to JPG?
JPGs are the most commonly used file type, and can be easily viewed just about anywhere. HEICs on the other-hand are a newer file type, which means they aren't fully supported on all devices/software across the board. This could mean that when you go to view an HEIC on a Windows computer, you may get an error saying it's not compatible. For now, stick with the trusty JPG!
