Company Knowledge connects Cheiron to your organization’s internal knowledge base, allowing your company’s own documents and data to be used as searchable knowledge sources in Cheiron. When internal files are uploaded to a collection, Cheiron can refer to those materials alongside its own database and provide answers that reflect your company’s actual context and content.
Company Knowledge is available on the Team plan and above. Depending on the configured access settings, uploaded materials can be shared with all employees using the same company domain or restricted to selected members of a specific collection.
Company Knowledge is the right tool when you need:
To reflect company-specific materials, such as internal strategy documents, regulatory plans, or analysis reports, in Cheiron’s answers
To go beyond public literature and include your company’s existing decision-making context or internal evaluation criteria
To analyze a specific asset, indication, pipeline, or competitive landscape from your company’s internal perspective
To help the team work from the same set of internal materials
To manage team-specific strategy documents, regulatory materials, and internal analysis reports with controlled access
Setting Up Company Knowledge
1. Create a collection
Click Company Knowledge in the left sidebar of Cheiron. Select the New button at the top of the screen, enter a collection name and a short description, then click Create. After creating a collection, Admins can assign a Manager to a specific collection. The assigned Manager can invite team members and manage materials within that collection.
2. Upload internal documents
After creating a collection, Admins or assigned Managers can upload internal documents to that collection, such as reports, strategy documents, regulatory plans, and internal analysis materials. Uploaded documents go through processing and are registered as knowledge sources that Cheiron can reference during search and answer generation.
Note: Admins can upload or delete documents in Company Knowledge. For collections with an assigned Manager, that Manager can also upload or delete documents within the assigned collection. Image-only PDFs are also supported.
How to use Company Knowledge
When using Company Knowledge, specify the internal criteria or company context that Cheiron should consider in your question. Instead of asking only for general market or literature information, include criteria such as “from our company’s perspective,” “based on our internal materials,” or “considering our existing review.” This helps Cheiron provide tailored analysis and answers that better reflect your company’s internal context.
Example queries include:
"Based on our internal oncology pipeline strategy, how does Drug X compare to competitors?"
"What regulatory risks were identified in our previous IND preparation for this indication?"
"Summarize the key findings from our internal report on KRAS inhibitors."
"Given our company’s target product profile, how should we position this trial design?"
Company Knowledge is not designed to answer based on one specific document only. Instead, it brings registered internal company materials into Cheiron’s search process. If you want to examine one specific document in depth, use Document Chat. If you want to analyze a topic using both internal company materials and external sources, use Company Knowledge.
Managing Company Knowledge
Organize materials by collection
Group internal materials into collections with a clear name and description, so teams can keep related documents together.
Upload and delete permissions for Admins and Managers
Admins can upload and delete documents in Company Knowledge. When a Manager is assigned to a specific collection, they can also upload and delete documents within that collection.
Access control by collection
Materials can be shared across the company or limited to specific collections. Admins and Managers can invite team members to a collection, and users can only view and use materials from collections they have access to.
Used in Cheiron’s search process
Company Knowledge is included in Cheiron’s search and answer generation process alongside Cheiron’s core databases.
Note: Collection-level access control helps teams separate materials by team, project, or workflow.
