How to Create a Killer Founder Profile on Cherub

Hi everyone! I'm Angeline Vuong, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Cherub.

Today, I’m thrilled to share some valuable tips on how to create an outstanding Cherub profile that will catch the eye of investors and help you stand out in the crowd. We’ve designed the Cherub profiles after extensive discussions with hundreds of angel investors to understand their evaluation process for potential investments.

So, let's dive into these insights and set you up for success.

The Importance of a Cherub Profile

First off, know that our profiles are meticulously crafted to support you in putting your best foot forward. Editing your profile is a breeze—simply head over to the navigation, click on "Edit Profile," and start uploading your assets and filling in the required information.

Key Tips for a Standout Profile

1. Use Rich Media Content Images and rich media content are highly compelling. Make your profile vivid by uploading .gifs and other dynamic content. Visuals can provide a lot of information at a glance and engage investors immediately

2. Craft a Catchy Headline Investors want a quick snapshot of who you are and what you offer. Think of your headline as your tweet elevator pitch; with around 260 characters, highlight your main traction points such as revenue milestones, key engagement metrics, or significant achievements by your founding team.

3. Highlight Key Metrics and Achievements Investors are generally metric-driven, even at early stages. Showcase any waitlist signups, market size, or other key metrics in your profile to drive interest. No metric is too small if it shows potential for growth.

4. Showcase Your Products In the key product section, detail your most popular products or services and include pricing information. This gives investors a concrete understanding of your offerings and their market value.

5. Utilize the Pitch Section A video pitch can be a game-changer. Investors often look to get a better sense of who the founders are and what they bring to the table. If you have a video that demonstrates this, make sure to include it. Link your pitch deck here as well for easy access.

6. Detail Your Investor and Advisor Network List who has already invested in or is advising your company. Providing context about these individuals—like mentioning that Alli Webb, founder of Drybar and an angel investor, is involved—adds credibility and can attract more investors.

7. Specify How Investors Can Help Investors often want to provide strategic value beyond just financial support. Be explicit about what kind of help you need. This could be in areas like business expansion, tech development, or market penetration.

8. Clarify Fund Allocation Potential investors want to know that their money will be used wisely. Clearly outline how you intend to use the raised funds, whether for research and development, marketing, or other critical areas.

9. Include Your Team’s Credentials Your team is your strength, especially in the early stages. Highlight their credentials and past successes. This is particularly important if they have experience in relevant industries or have previously built successful companies.

10. Provide Social Proof Links to your social media presence, website, and press articles offer additional layers of credibility and show that there is traction beyond sales numbers.
