Widgets are the core building blocks of Chronicle chapters, ranging from text, headers, images, and embeds, to mockups and experimental elements like timelines. There are several ways to add widgets to the freeform canvas:
1. From the Insert Menu (Document Toolbar)
Click Insert in the document toolbar
Find your desired widget
Click to add it to the canvas (then drag to reposition), or
Drag and drop it directly onto the canvas
Widgets with a chevron (▸) reveal additional options when hovered
2. From the Right-Click Menu
Right-click on a blank space in the canvas
Select Insert
Add a widget by clicking or dragging, as described above
3. Copy and Paste from Another Chapter or Document
Select a widget (or group of widgets) and press CMD + C
Navigate to another chapter or document
Press CMD + V to paste
(Use CTRL instead of CMD on Windows)
