Before creating Job Config Templates, ensure that Job Settings are configured correctly under Settings → Work Week Settings.
Job Config templates help streamline job budgeting by providing a structured starting point when setting up new jobs. Instead of manually entering job budget details each time, you can select a Job Config Template and adjust values as needed.
Setting Up Job Config Templates
Go to Settings > List Management > Job Config. Define at least one Job Config template for each of the following:
Ongoing Work (e.g., routine maintenance or cleaning contracts)
Project Work (e.g., large-scale renovations or installations)
Work Orders (e.g., one-time repair or service jobs)
The above are default templates that you can edit by clicking into them or use the + (plus) button to add your own.
Defaulted Values in Job Config Templates
Each template pre-populates key budget settings, which can be customized per job:
Labor %
Average Pay Rate (Unloaded) – Base employee wage before taxes or benefits.
Labor-Based Overhead % – Includes taxes, franchise fees, and workers' compensation.
Revenue-Based Overhead % – Non-labor overhead costs tied to revenue.
Work Days – Standard scheduled workdays for the job.
Formula:
100% - (Labor % + Revenue Overhead %) = Gross Profit %
Examples of Job Config Templates
M-W-F Ongoing – A standard template for ongoing jobs scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Windows (Workman’s Comp) – A specialized template factoring in higher worker’s compensation costs.
Ross Housekeeping – A template tailored for Ross store housekeeping jobs.
By setting up Job Config Templates, you can reduce setup time, improve budgeting accuracy, and maintain consistency across job types.
