Enabling Near Field Communications on a Android Device

Learn how to quickly enable NFC on your Android device so you can tap, connect, and interact with NFC-enabled products like TapDots.

Updated over a week ago

NFC (Near Field Communication) makes it easy to connect with devices and scan products like ChurchTap's TapDots by simply tapping your phone. If your Android device supports NFC, enabling it is quick and simple. Here's how to turn it on:

🔧 Step-by-Step: Turning on NFC on Android

  1. Open the Settings app
Start by unlocking your phone and tapping on the Settings app—usually represented by a gear icon.

  2. Navigate to Connections
In the Settings menu, scroll until you find and tap on Connections.

  3. Select 'NFC and contactless payments'
Inside the Connections menu, look for NFC and contactless payments. Tap to open it.

  4. Enable NFC
You’ll see a switch next to NFC and contactless payments. Tap the switch to turn it on. It should change color or slide to indicate that NFC is now active.

Once enabled, your phone can now read NFC tags, make contactless payments, or interact with compatible products like TapDots.

💡 Note: If you don’t see NFC in your settings, your device may not support it. You can also try searching "NFC" in the Settings search bar.
