We'll place a hold (pending transaction) on the card that you provided to us. You can view the card, and change it by going to Settings > Deposits > Payment methods.
If the deposit is for a trip that's a while away, we'll have to extend the hold. You'll see this on your card statement as a cancelled transaction and a new hold. We may extend the hold multiple times, depending on the timeline of your trip and the type of card you gave us.
After the trip is up, we'll cancel the transaction and the hold will be released. You'll be able to spend that money on your card again as usual, apart from the small platform fees MeetCiao takes.
If there are any issues MeetCiao will complete the transaction, and the deposit will be taken. MeetCiao might take the whole or partial amount of the deposit, depending on the circumstances, and send it to the host to cover the issue.
