How do I clean my device without damaging the electronics?

Keeping your creation looking brand new is important! However, because your kit is a mix of sensitive electronics and custom acrylic, you need to use the right "cleaning agents" for each part to avoid damage.

1. Cleaning the Acrylic Casing

The transparent acrylic that protects your device is durable but sensitive to certain chemicals.

  • The Golden Rule: NEVER use alcohol, glass cleaners, or harsh chemicals on the acrylic. These can cause "crazing", a reaction where the plastic develops thousands of tiny internal cracks, making it look cloudy or broken.

  • The Best Method: Use a microfiber cloth (like the ones for glasses) slightly dampened with plain water. Gently wipe away fingerprints or dust to keep that crystal-clear finish.

2. Cleaning the Electronics (The PCB)

If you've got some flux residue from soldering or a bit of dirt on the circuit board itself, water is not your friend here.

  • The Pro Method: You can safely clean the electronic components and the circuit board (PCB) using IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol).

  • How to do it: Dip a cotton swab or a soft brush into the IPA and gently scrub the affected area. The alcohol will dissolve grime and evaporate quickly without leaving moisture behind.

3. The Screen

Treat the screen with the same care as the acrylic.

  • The Fix: A dry microfiber cloth is usually enough. For stubborn smudges, a tiny drop of water on the cloth (never directly on the screen!) will do the trick.
