I messed up a soldering joint and the solder is touching two pins. How do I fix it?

Don't panic! This is called a solder bridge. You can fix it by applying a bit of flux and using a desoldering pump (solder sucker) or a desoldering wick to remove the excess solder. If you don't have those, sometimes simply reheating the joint and "dragging" the iron away from the bridge will separate the pins.
