Is there a way to test components before I solder them?

A

Yes β€” and it's actually a great habit! Here's how:

  • Breadboard testing: If you have a breadboard, you can test individual components (LEDs, resistors, buttons) before soldering them permanently.

  • Dry fit first: Place components into their positions on the PCB before soldering to make sure everything lines up correctly.

  • Follow the build guide order: Our assembly guides are designed so that you can test at natural checkpoints β€” for example, testing the screen before soldering the buttons.

The most important thing is to solder low-profile components first (resistors, small ICs) and work your way up to larger ones. This makes it easier to fix mistakes early.
