CircuitMess Bit 2.0 FAQ
What is CircuitMess Bit?
CircuitMess Bit is a build-it-yourself kit for creating an 8-bit, retro-style game console. You get to play pre-loaded games right away, but the real fun is learning to code and making your own.
What can I do with Bit?
After building your Bit, you can dive right into the pre-loaded, classic-style games. But that's just the start! You can also learn to code and create your own games, or collect Wacky Robots to unlock bonus content.
What age range is Bit suitable for?
Bit is suitable for ages 7 and up. Building it involves assembling electronic components, and the coding aspects are best suited for that age range. Younger builders could definitely get involved with a parent's help, though!
Do I need any prior experience to build Bit?
No. We designed Bit to be easy to build, even if you're a complete beginner. The instructions are super clear, and you don't need any prior experience with electronics.
How long does it take to build Bit?
Plan on spending up to an hour assembling your Bit console. It's a fun project you can tackle in an afternoon or spread out over a couple of sessions.
What games come pre-loaded on Bit?
Bit comes with a selection of pre-loaded games inspired by classic 8-bit arcade titles. This gives you something to play right away, even before you dive into coding your own!
Can I code my own games for Bit?
Absolutely! That's one of the coolest things about Bit. You can use CircuitBlocks (a visual coding interface) or Python to create your own games and really personalize your console.
