Why this matters
Email Setup (DKIM) in CisionOne enables superusers to configure and verify their organization’s domain, allowing emails to be sent from the organization’s own domain rather than the default Cision domain.
Before You Get Started
Preparation checklist
Ensure you own and have administrative access to every email domain you plan to connect to CisionOne.
Confirm you have access to your email provider’s DNS (Domain Name System) console, as domain-level updates will be required.
Plan to involve your IT or domain administrator if you do not manage DNS settings directly.
Note: Domain access and DNS configuration are managed by your organization and fall outside of Cision’s scope of support. Email setup and domain verification typically take 1–2 hours to complete.
Adding Your Sending Domain in CisionOne
Best practices
Navigate to Organization settings by selecting your initials in the top-left corner of CisionOne and choosing Organization, then Email Setup.
Enter your organization’s sending domain (for example,
yourcompany.com).Use your primary corporate email domain whenever possible to maintain consistency and trust.
What to expect
If the domain has already been configured and verified through Cision’s email delivery service, you’ll receive an error indicating the domain is unavailable.
If successful, the domain will be added to your organization. There is no limit to the number of domains you can add.
Adding a domain does not automatically enable sending. Domain verification is still required.
Authenticating Your Domain with DKIM
How authentication works
Once your domain is added, CisionOne will generate the required DNS records needed to authenticate your domain.
DKIM explained
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) helps prevent email spoofing by verifying that messages are sent from an authorized domain.
Proper DKIM configuration supports deliverability and protects your sender reputation.
Custom DKIM selector considerations
By default, CisionOne provides a standard DKIM selector.
If your DNS already contains DKIM records from another provider, you may need a custom selector.
Contact Customer Support if assistance is required to configure a custom selector.
