A tracked prompt is a buyer question that Citera checks across your selected AI models over time, for example a category, comparison, use-case or recommendation question. Every visibility metric in Citera is measured against the prompts in your Prompt Library, so this is the main lever you control.
How many prompts can I track?
It depends on your plan: 25 per month on Starter, 50 per month on Scale and a custom amount on Custom (as shown on the pricing page). The limit counts everything in your Prompt Library, whether typed by you or generated.
Open the Prompt Library
Go to Prompt Library in the app. Here you can see each prompt's results by model, whether you were mentioned or cited, and which brands appeared.
Add prompts
Type a prompt, for example "What is the best CRM for small business?"
Paste several prompts, one per line
Import from CSV. Download the CSV template first if you need the format
Generate with AI. Citera suggests more prompts from your brand profile (usually 20 to 40 seconds)
Duplicates are skipped automatically. You can also export your library as a CSV.
Build a good prompt set
Start with a buying decision. Pick one audience, market and product area first.
Use real questions. Draw on sales calls, support questions and your website. Remove private customer details.
Cover the research journey: category questions, problem-led questions, comparisons and buying requirements.
Keep branded and unbranded prompts separate so you can tell brand awareness apart from category discovery.
Avoid near-duplicates that overrepresent one topic.
Treat the first results as a baseline, not a verdict. If you change your prompt set later, note it, because results are no longer like-for-like.
Keywords view
The Prompt Library also has a Keywords view that shows searches from Google and Bing once you connect Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster.
