The Calendar is where Citera plans and publishes your content. It fills itself: Citera picks topics from the prompts you track, writes drafts a couple of days ahead and publishes them to your connected CMS on the scheduled day. Blog autopilot plans up to 30 days ahead on every plan.
The life of a post
Every card on the calendar shows a badge for its stage:
Queued: the topic is booked for a day but nothing is written yet. The card shows search volume and competitiveness. Easiest time to swap the topic, move the day or delete it.
Drafting: about two days before publishing, Citera researches, writes, runs quality checks and creates a hero image. This usually takes minutes.
Draft: the article exists. Click the card to read and edit it. With autopilot off, it waits here for your approval.
Scheduled: approved and dated. You can still edit, move or unschedule it until it goes out.
Published: live on your site. The card links to the post and starts collecting traffic and impressions.
Drag any card to another future day to reschedule it.
Editing an article
Click a draft to open the editor. Click any headline, summary, paragraph or author to edit; changes save automatically. You can switch between Blog Preview and Document views and check desktop and phone layouts. A score shows how findable the article is on Google and in AI answer engines, with the checks behind it.
Publishing sends words and images only. Your site's design, fonts and menus are not changed; the post uses your blog's existing styling.
Autopilot settings
Open the autopilot panel on the Calendar to:
Switch publishing autopilot on or off for blogs (and social, on Scale and above)
Choose which kinds of blog article get planned, and for each kind whether it is Off, Drafted (waits for you to publish) or Autopilot (publishes automatically)
Set publishing time and days
Before blogs can run
Connect a CMS. Without one, drafts keep being generated and wait on the calendar until you connect a destination.
Add a default author. Blog generation pauses until a default author exists. Use a real person with a real job title, as named authors are valued more by search engines than company bylines.
Brand voice
Use Settings → Knowledge Base to add documents and standing instructions the AI uses when writing, such as tone of voice or "only mention products that are in stock". Changes apply to future generations, not content already written.
