What Types of Virtual Assets Are Supported on CityPay?

Updated this week

1. Crypto Wallet

Once verification is completed, users gain access to three primary crypto wallets, each corresponding to the supported crypto assets on the platform:

  • BTC (Bitcoin)
The Bitcoin wallet is designed for BTC transactions. Users can send and receive Bitcoin either to/from external blockchain wallets or to other CityPay users with zero commission.

  • LTC (Litecoin)
The Litecoin wallet facilitates Litecoin transactions and is ideal for fast and low-cost operations. Its functionality is similar to that of the BTC wallet.

  • USDT (Polygon)
The USDT stablecoin is supported on the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain network, allowing users to perform operations in a USD-pegged asset with minimal fees.

2. Tokenized Fiat Wallets

CityPay.io offers a dedicated space for tokenized fiat currencies—digital tokens issued by CityPay on the Polygon network. These combine the efficiency of blockchain technology with the stability of traditional currencies. The wallet is designed to simplify crypto purchases using tokenized fiat assets.

  • GELX (Tokenized GEL)
GELX is a tokenized version of the Georgian Lari, maintaining a 1:1 peg with the national currency. It is used for operations requiring a digital format of fiat currency. Users can perform internal transactions and purchase crypto assets using GELX.

  • USDX (Tokenized USD)
USDX is the tokenized version of the US Dollar, also maintaining a 1:1 peg with the dollar. Like GELX, it enables internal transactions and crypto purchases where digital fiat is required.
