We recommend using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or Authy for the strongest protection. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Open the Clapp app and navigate to your "Profile."

  2. Locate the "General" section, and click on "2FA."

  3. Clapp will display a QR code and a secret key.

  4. Open your authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator).

  5. In your authenticator app, choose "Add account" or "Add a new account." You may have the option to scan a QR code or enter a key manually.

  6. Scan the QR code displayed in the Clapp app using your authenticator app. Alternatively, you can manually enter the secret key provided by Clapp into your authenticator app.

  7. Your authenticator app will now generate a six-digit code. Enter this code into the Clapp app to verify the setup.

That's it! You've now enabled 2FA for your Clapp account. In addition to your password, you'll need to enter the code generated by your authenticator app each time you log in or perform sensitive actions. This adds an extra layer of security, protecting your account even if your password is compromised.

πŸ’‘ Important Security Notes:

  • Back up your secret key! If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need this key to recover your 2FA. Store it securely, preferably offline.

  • Keep your authenticator app secure. Protect your phone and ensure your authenticator app is up-to-date.

  • Be wary of phishing attempts. Clapp will never ask for your 2FA code directly. Be cautious of any suspicious requests for this information.
