ClassCover is working with the NSW Department of Education on a new feature that will show schools that you are verified to teach in NSW public schools and that you have completed your mandatory training.

This simple addition, available for those accredited to teach, has major benefits. It’s not only important for schools who are looking to add you to their list but also in order to manage their current list as validation can expire and it can be a challenge to keep on top of it.

What you need to do now to be verified if you are a casual teacher

You will notice a pop-up within ClassCover on both the mobile and desktop versions. This pop-up asks if you currently teach in or are interested in teaching in NSW public schools.

If you are a casual teacher looking to teach in NSW public schools

  1. Click ‘YES’ to the question asking if you teach in or are interested in teaching in NSW public schools. (If you click ‘Skip for now’ the pop-up will show again later. If you click ‘No’, you won’t see the pop-up again.)

  2. The next pop-up screen will be asking if you are a relief teacher with a NESA ID. Click ‘YES’ if you have a NESA ID.

  3. In the next pop-up screen fill out your first name, last name, date of birth and your NESA ID.

  4. You will then need to confirm that the details are correct and that you consent to passing on this information to the NSW Department of Education.

If you do not have a NESA ID

Click ‘NO’ to the question asking you " Are you a relief teacher with a NESA ID?” and click on Submit.

We will be in touch shortly with a quick survey so we can better label and categorise your role and status within ClassCover (e.g.: SLSO, EA’s, School Counsellors etc.)

Frequently Asked Questions

I already have my correct details in my ClassCover profile, do I need to enter them again through the pop up?

Yes, you will have to enter it again through the pop-up window. This is because we need you to provide us with confirmation that your details are correct and consent for ClassCover to share these details with the NSW Department of Education.

What happens if I don’t submit my details through ClassCover to the NSW Department of Education?

If you choose not to submit your details, you may find your ClassCover profile at a disadvantage as schools can see those who are verified and those who aren’t. You will be at risk of being removed from school lists which will limit your chances of a school finding and adding you through ClassCover.

What would I do if I clicked NO to the first question and changed my mind?

Please reach out to our support team so we can organise the submission of your details.

What if I am not a registered teacher, but work in schools and get booked through ClassCover?

At this stage, we are only asking for accredited teachers to verify their details as this feature is only available for those with a NESA ID.

All you need to do is click ‘NO’ on the second question, asking “Are you a relief teacher with a NESA ID?”

We will be in touch shortly with a quick survey to better label and categorise your role and status within ClassCover (e.g.: If you are an SLSO, EA, School Counsellor etc.)

What happens if my verification fails, or returns not verified?

If you have sent us through details with an error or your verification has expired, then you will receive a notification with steps to rectify. You will need to review your details and re-submit in order to appear as ‘verified’ on ClassCover.

If you receive an 'Orange Tick' meaning partially verified, then you will need to review your mandatory training in MyPL and e-Safety. Read more about Partially Verified and how to fix it here.
