Student not listed? Learn how (and whether!) to modify your roster manually.

Adding New Students

Before Adding New Students: Importing or setting up a class from Clever, Classlink, or Google Classroom will add your rostered students to ClassHero, but later updates to your roster may or may not reflect in ClassHero depending on which system you're using.

So, follow the instructions based on the type of rostering you are using:

Clever Users

Caution! We don't recommend manually adding students to your roster.

Any student you add manually will not be synced with your real classroom roster, and will have to access ClassHero by logging in as a student at Classhero.com, and using your ClassPin, rather than logging on through their Clever App Portal.

Any student who is in fact in your clever-synced class will show up on your ClassHero roster, and new additions will sync, typically on a daily basis.

Reasons to add a student:

1) I want to add a new student manually, because they joined my class a couple days ago, and they have not shown up on my ClassHero roster yet.

WE RECOMMEND: Do not add this new student manually to your ClassHero roster. Wait for your district to sync your new roster to Clever. This could take a couple days. If it's not happening soon enough, reach out to your school or district admin to report that "my new student is not rostering into a Clever app I'm using in class. When will my new student start syncing with Clever?" You want to solve this issue at your local level. The new student will show up, and you do not want a duplicate of this student in your class that you created manually.

2) I want to add a new student manually because I want a fake account to play with.

WE RECOMMEND: Click on "Demo Student" any time to experience the currently assigned class topic. Data in this demo account doesn't persist, so if you want to fully experience the student app as a student, you may still wish to add a fake student to your roster using the following steps:

1. Locate Class Settings

Click the 'Edit Class & Student Details' quick link.

2. Click Add a Student Button

Find and click the purple '+ Student' button.

3. Enter Name and Save

Enter in the new students name and click 'Create New Student' button.

Removing Students

1. Locate Class Settings

Click the 'Edit Class & Student Details' quick link.

2. Select Student you want to Remove

Click the checkbox next to the student that you want to remove from your class.

3. Click Actions and Delete

ClassLink Users

Caution! We don't recommend manually adding students to your roster.

1. Locate Class Settings

Click the 'Edit Class & Student Details' quick link.

2. Select Student you want to Remove

Click the checkbox next to the student that you want to remove from your class.

3. Click Actions and Delete

Google Classroom Users

Your roster has been imported via Google Classroom, but it won't continually sync to changes you make in Google Classroom. Instead, you'll want to make any changes in your Google Classroom roster in ClassHero as well.

Follow the instructions for manually rostering:

Manual Rostering

1. Locate Class Settings

Click the 'Edit Class & Student Details' quick link.

2. Click Add a Student Button

Find and click the purple '+ Student' button.

3. Enter Name and Save

Enter in the new students name and click 'Create New Student' button.

Removing Students

1. Locate Class Settings

Click the 'Edit Class & Student Details' quick link.

2. Select Student you want to Remove

Click the checkbox next to the student that you want to remove from your class.

3. Click Actions and Delete
