Introductory Lessons
Click on the Introductory Lessons tab from the series page to view several lesson plans that help kick off the Read to Lead program. We recommend implementing these activities before your students play the game or within the first week of gameplay. Some of the lessons focus on introducing students to the career and industry they will explore, and others focus on practicing 21st-century skills like problem-solving and decision-making. Each lesson lasts for 45 minutes. Your students will have access to the worksheets for each lesson in their Read to Lead accounts.
Literacy Skill-Building Lessons
In the Literacy Skill-Building Lessons tab, you will find reading skill-practice lessons that reinforce CCRA standards addressed in the games. You will also find 16 Close Reading lessons featuring a speech, essay, or article that provides students an opportunity to practice analyzing complex, primary source texts and give the educator a chance to model fluency for their students.
Enrichment Projects
Click on the Enrichment Projects tab to access three projects that help students practice and apply their leadership skills to benefit their communities. Each project includes 6-10 guided lesson plans to get students passionate about an issue in their community. These projects can be implemented during or after any series you decide to play. You have access to both the lesson plans and the worksheets, and your students will see only the worksheets in their Read to Lead account.
