Before you can see any student activity, your class must be in session. You control when your class will be in session by setting a class schedule. To avoid overlaps with other teachers and classes, avoid setting period durations longer than your actual class time.

To set a class schedule, navigate to the Class Setting screen using the settings icon in the lower left of your screen and choose a schedule type from the dropdown. Depending on options your administrator has configured, you may see one or more of the following options: Bell, Custom, or Ad Hoc. For most teachers, we recommend using bell or custom schedules when available so your class will be ready for you every time you come back.

Bell

If bell schedules have been configured, you will see one or more schedules like the one in the example below. Select a time by clicking on it. Do this for each bell schedule listed that applies to your class, then click Save.

NOTE โ€” Bell schedules are defined by your school or district administrator.

Custom

To configure a custom schedule, you will first need to click the + (add) button to create a new entry. Select the days of the week, then enter the Start and End time in a 12-hour format.ย

If this class meets at different times throughout the week, click the + button again, select the days of the week and enter the other time for the course.

Click the small โ€œxโ€ beside each time entry to delete from the class setting. Click Save to apply the changes and return the main Relay Classroom page.

Ad Hoc

The Ad Hoc option provides a flexible scheduling alternative that can be used in situations where standard schedules don't apply, such as when school start is delayed by weather. Select a duration from the dropdown and then click Start.

When you set an Ad Hoc class schedule, look for the duration time and a Stop button above the Class Controls. Click Stop to cancel the class schedule.
