Checklist and Guide for adding and setting up a classroom in SchoolStatus Connect

Setting up your classroom is very quick and easy whether it is your first one or you have done it many times before. Find all the key steps and tips here. 

Create Your Class On SchoolStatus Connect

You can have as many classes as you need in SchoolStatus Connect after you have created your first one. As you are signing up for SchoolStatus Connect for the first time, you have the option to create your first class or a demo class. 

1. Go to SchoolStatus Connect and click on any of the Get Started buttons.

2. Click the appropriate answer to How do you want to use SchoolStatus Connect?

(i.e. - As a Teacher)

3. Sign up with either Google, Facebook, Microsoft, or manually enter your email address.

4. Fill it out with your information and create a password. Then, click Sign Up.

5. Now you will create your first classroom by filling out the necessary information.

6. Follow the next step to Add a Roster or skip it and Explore SchoolStatus Connect first.

If you skip adding your roster from this page, you can open this article to understand how to add students and invite parents/guardians later on.

Also, please make sure you verify the email address after you sign up to ensure full-feature access.

You're now ready to use and explore your first class on SchoolStatus Connect! 🙌

Class Settings

You can always go back to the settings by clicking the three dots and Settings.

You can configure your settings based on your preference. Don’t forget to click on the Update Class button after you make any changes on this page.

Assign Your Class To Your School

From your Home page, you can assign your classroom to a School and select to be the SchoolStatus Connect School Leader. If someone already has claimed your school on SchoolStatus Connect, you can ask to be invited. They can easily find your classroom if they search by your email address. 

Change Your Class Avatar

The class photo will appear on every Announcement, Event, and invitation that you will send. This is a great way to show parents/guardians what kind of class you have by being creative in using an image or logo that represents your class. 

Change Your School's Address

If you need to change the address of your school, please contact SchoolStatus Connect at support-ct@schoolstatus.com.  Provide the full name of your school and the correct and complete address so we can update it for you.

Create More Classes

You can create new classes on SchoolStatus Connect if you are teaching multiple classes or just looking to create groups that would need a separate communication and scheduling channel.  Just click on the top left three lines of your screen to pull a side menu and select "Add New Class" under the list of your existing classes. Use Your Demo Class

Demo Class is a great way to see your real one in action especially if it is the first time you are using SchoolStatus Connect. This demo class can be accessed in the classroom Settings.

Graduate Your Class

If it is that time of the year and you are looking forward to the summer, you can let everyone know that the classroom will be archived and choose to "Graduate This Class". We know it can be a sad moment!
