The Journal, in the side menu, keeps every closed trade your service reports, simulated accounts included, and works out your stats from them. It is where you look back: which signals, accounts and instruments make money, and on which days.
What each trade records
The contract, LONG or SHORT, the size, the entry and exit prices, when it opened and closed, its P&L, how far it went against and for you while it was open (MAE and MFE), the account, and under Strategy the agent that traded it. A trade that no agent placed, such as one you made by hand, shows as unattributed. Press a trade to see all of it. Its P&L is after fees where your broker reports them. A practice trade also shows its slippage, when its connection has practice costs.
Days are trading days, the way your broker counts them: a day starts at 18:00 New York time the evening before, and a weekend counts towards the Monday.
Filter it
One row of filters serves every tab:
the date range: a range such as Last 30 Days, or Custom, up to a year at a time;
All products, All accounts, All strategies, and All account types, which are LIVE, PROP or SIM as each account's connection is;
Long & short, or one side only.
All strategies lists each strategy once, however many accounts run it, and picking it takes all of them. All accounts names each account after its connection, so two accounts with the same name on different connections stay apart.
The product, account, strategy and account type filters each take several values. Whatever is set shows as a chip under the filters, with a cross to take it off, and Clear all takes them all off. On a phone, the filters fold away behind the filter button, which counts how many are set.
Presets
The cards above the filters are your presets: a date range and filters, kept under a name. Each card shows the net P&L and the number of trades for what it holds. Press a card and the filters are set to it. The Journal starts with Today and Last 7 days, and opens on the preset you picked last.
To keep the filters that are set now, press Save this view, give it a name, and press Save.
Change the range or a filter while a preset is chosen, and Update appears in the corner of its card. Press it, change the name if you like, and press Update. A change you don't update is not kept: to go back to the preset as it was saved, press its card again.
To rename or delete a preset, press ⋯ in the corner of its card. On a computer it shows when you point at the card. One preset always stays.
On the Calendar tab, a preset sets the filters and the calendar keeps the month it shows. Presets are kept in the browser you made them in, so a phone and a computer each have their own. On a phone, the cards scroll sideways and their menus open from the bottom of the screen.
The four tabs
Dashboard: Net P&L, Win rate, Profit factor, Expectancy, Avg win / loss and Max drawdown, then the Cumulative net P&L curve, How far trades went · MAE / MFE, the daily P&L, and when in the week your money is made.
Calendar: a month of daily net P&L with weekly totals. The first and last week show their days from the months either side too, a little fainter, and a week's total counts all seven of its days; the figures above the calendar are the month's alone. Press a day for its trades in the order they closed, and Open in Trades for the full list.
Trades: every trade in the range, newest first, 100 at a time with Show more for the next: a table on a wide screen, and cards on a phone. Each trade shows how long it was held, and its worst and best while it was open with a small bar between them.
Reports: the same figures side by side for each strategy, each account and each product.
Your P&L Cards are made from this same history.
