Updates to your service

How your service is kept up to date, how to update it yourself, and what an urgent fix does to your open positions.

Your service is updated for you, so there is nothing you have to do. Starting it always starts the newest version, so a service that was off is up to date the next time you start it.

Automatic updates

Updates are normally installed in the daily market break, 17:00–18:00 New York time, when the market is shut. Your service restarts briefly, and your open positions stay at your broker. An order that is under way is finished first.

Update it yourself

When a newer version is out, your service's details show Newer build available. You can update now instead of waiting for the break.

  1. Open the details. On a phone, press ⋮ at the top. On a desktop, press ⋮ in the top bar and choose Service details.

  2. Press Update, and confirm. If positions are open, the question lists them.

Your service restarts briefly. Your open positions stay at your broker, and your settings are reloaded. While it restarts, it is not watching your positions or taking signals, and its status can read Service not responding for a moment. So choose a quiet moment.

Urgent fixes

Now and then a fix can't wait for the break, and it can come at any time of day. Then your service closes your open positions first, checks that they are closed, and only then restarts. If a position won't close, it is not restarted.

If anything was closed, you get one message saying so. It comes by email and on every other channel you have set up, whatever your notification settings. Activity lists what was closed. Your agents and daily limits are unchanged, and your service goes back to trading by itself.
