Using the Order Bump Feature

Overview

Order Bump is a ClickBank feature that allows ClickBank Sellers to add additional product options to an order form for customers to select. The order options are displayed as checkboxes that customers can check if they wish to add the product to their existing order before purchase.

Order Bump products are typically offers that complement that original product and are oftentimes priced lower to incentivize the customer to add it to their final purchase. Sellers can configure up to five order bumps for each product that they offer.

When the order is complete, the customer receives one confirmation email that contains the details of each product that was purchased. The order number will be the same for all items, however each item will be listed on a different line. If necessary, the customer can request a refund for any individual item separate of the related items.

When a customer purchases multiple items and selects an order bump, the ClickBank fees are taken from the order as a whole, rather than from each product individually. Sellers can apply an order bump to all product types, as long as the products are approved and in the same language. If the order contains multiple physical products, they must have the same shipping profile, otherwise an error message will be displayed. This means that the shipping profile of each order bump product must contain the region that order is shipping to.


How to Add an Order Bump

Step 2: Click the Accounts tab.

Step 3: Click the account nickname of the sales account that houses the product you want to add an order bump to.

Step 4: Click the Vendor Settings tab.

Step 5: Click My Products.

Step 6: Click Order Bumps.

Step 7: Click Add Order Bump.

Step 8: Click the Add New Initial Product.

​Step 9: Select the initial product you want to add from the list and click Add Initial Product.

Step 10: Click Add Bump Product.

Step 11: Select the product you wish to use for the order bump from the product list and click Add Bump Product(s).

Step 12: Select the order bump text you want to display on your order form from the dropdown menu.

Step 13: Click Save Order Bump.

NOTE: You can add up to four Order Bumps.

How to Use Custom Text for Your Order Bump

You can use customized text on your order form for Order Bumps.

NOTE: Order Bump Text, unlike the actual Order Bump, must first be approved by Compliance before it can be utilized.

Step 2: Click the Accounts tab.

Step 7: Click Custom Order Bump Text.

Step 8: Click the Add Order Bump Text.

Step 9: Click the Add Bump Product button.

​Step 10: Select the product you want to offer in an order bump and click Add Bump Product.

Step 11: Add the custom text you want to be displayed with this order bump and click Submit for Approval.

NOTE: All custom order bump text must be approved by ClickBank. Once you submit your text, the status will appear as Pending Review. Once the text is approved, the status will change to Approved.

What other features are Order Bumps compatible with?

Upsell Flows

Even though Order Bumps and upsell flows offer customers additional products for purchase, they are not the same thing. An Order Bump exists on the order form and occurs before a purchase is complete. An upsell flow kicks off after a customer has completed a purchase.

  • A product can be set up with both an Order Bump and an upsell flow.

  • The same product can be offered in the Order Bump and in the upsell flow. However, once the customer has purchased the product (either as part of the original Cart purchase or through an Order Bump), the same product will not be offered again as part of the upsell flow.

Instant Notification

Version 6 and Version 7 (current version) of Instant Notifications supports line item level details, so it sends information about each item within an Order Bump order. See the Instant Notification Service article for information about using Instant Notifications.

NOTE: Earlier versions of Instant Notifications do not support line item details, meaning that they are not compatible with Order Bump.

ClickBank APIs

The Orders and Tickets APIs support accessing information from multi-line transaction orders. You can use the SKU (item number) to request a specific line item from a multi-line transaction. The APIs return an error status if you make a call involving a multi-line transaction without providing the SKU.
