If you're concerned about fraudulent or repetitive clicks draining your ad budget, Excessive Clicking Rules can help. This feature allows you to define exactly how many times a visitor can interact with your paid ads before they're automatically blocked.

By setting your own thresholds, you can take proactive steps to protect your campaigns from suspicious behaviour.


What Are Excessive Clicking Rules?

Excessive Clicking Rules let you create custom limits on how many paid ad clicks are allowed from a single visitor within a chosen time period. If those limits are exceeded, the visitor is automatically blocked from seeing your ads.

This helps you:

  • Stop repeat clickers who may be driving up your costs

  • Prevent click fraud from bots or competitors

  • Regain control over your advertising spend


How It Works

You can define multiple rules based on click count and timeframe. Each rule can be tailored to your needs, and you can update or delete them at any time.

Example Rules:

  • Block a visitor after 3 clicks in 1 hour

  • Block a visitor after 5 clicks in 24 hours

  • Block a visitor after 7 clicks in 7 days

Once a rule is triggered, that visitor's IP or device fingerprint is added to your exclusion list, preventing them from seeing your ads again—at least until the exclusion period expires or the block is manually removed.

Getting Started

You can manage your Excessive Clicking Rules in your Click Guardian Settings area. From there, you’ll be able to:

  • Add a new rule

  • Edit or remove existing rules

  • Review rule performance through your exclusion data
