Metrics & Dashboard

Track your key financial KPIs automatically — and build your own custom metrics

Metrics & Dashboard

The Dashboard and Metrics tools give you a high-level view of your business health — key financial indicators surfaced automatically from your data, so you always know how your business is performing at a glance.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log into Clockwork. It's designed to give you a quick, at-a-glance snapshot of where your business stands financially, without needing to dig into your full P&L.

From the Dashboard you can see:

  • Your most important financial metrics, updated automatically

  • Highlights from your Financial Model — revenue trends, expense trends, and net income

  • Your projected cash position

  • Any notable changes or variances worth your attention

Metrics

Clockwork calculates a set of key business metrics directly from your financial data — no manual setup required. These give you a deeper, more analytical view of performance beyond just the top-line numbers.

Out of the box, Clockwork supports metrics including:

  • Revenue Growth Rate

  • Gross Margin

  • Net Profit Margin

  • Operating Expense Ratio

  • Burn Rate

  • Runway

  • Accounts Receivable Days

  • Accounts Payable Days

  • And more

You can toggle metrics on or off depending on which ones are most relevant to your business type. This keeps your Metrics view focused and easy to scan.

Custom Metrics

In addition to the built-in metrics, you can create Custom Metrics using your own financial data and Custom Variables. Custom Metrics are built using a formula builder that lets you combine any financial accounts, standard metrics, and non-financial Custom Variables using arithmetic operations.

For example, you could create a custom metric like:

  • Revenue per Employee — Total Revenue ÷ Headcount

  • Customer Acquisition Cost — Marketing Expenses ÷ New Customers

  • Average Deal Size — Total Revenue ÷ Number of Deals Closed

Custom Metrics update automatically as your data syncs — once built, they're always current.

Viewing metrics over time

Both standard and custom metrics can be viewed as a time series, so you can track how they're trending — not just what they are today. You can also see metrics in the context of your forecast, giving you a forward-looking view of where each KPI is headed.
