Set Up Your First AI Voice Agent
Ready to set up your AI Voice Agent? Let’s get started.
From the dashboard, click on AI Voice Agent on the left menu.
Click any of the "Create Agent" buttons present on the page to get started.
Let’s start by personalising your agent. First, define what the agent will do—Agent Role. Next, shape the Agent Personality—how it should speak to your callers. You can dive deeper into this in the Conversation Style Guide. Then, add in your business context to help the agent respond better. Finally, pick a voice and accent that match your brand persona.
Agent Role: Define your AI Voice Agent’s name and outline its responsibilities during calls. This helps set clear expectations for what the agent will handle.
Agent Personality: Shape your agent’s personality by specifying its role, tone, and communication style. Think of it as writing a job description—detailing how your agent speaks, behaves, and engages in conversations. This customization ensures your AI Voice Agent aligns with your brand’s tone and customer experience goals.
Conversation Style Guidelines: Set the tone and approach your agent will use in conversations with callers—whether friendly, formal, professional, or casual.
Business Context: Add information about your business, such as the services you offer or the problems you solve. This helps your AI Voice Agent respond more effectively and provide relevant assistance to your customers.
Voice and Language: Choose the voice and language your agent will use. Our AI voices are natural and come with a range of accents, so you can select the one that best matches your brand’s identity and audience preferences.
Customize the Voice:
Voice Speed: Slow down or speed up how quickly the agent speaks.
Speaking Style: Controls how expressive the AI sounds. Use Calm for neutral or serious tones, Emotional for warmth, friendliness, or excitement.
Speaking Volume: Make the agent louder or softer depending on your call environment.
By configuring these settings, you ensure that your AI Voice Agent operates with a clear understanding of your business context, communicates in a manner consistent with your brand, and engages customers effectively in their preferred language.
Once you're all set, just click Next in the top-right corner to move ahead to the next step.
Note: You’ll see all the fields pre-filled with sample data. Feel free to tweak it, add your own details, or adjust it to better suit your business needs.
Next up: setting up your agent’s script. This is where you define what the AI Voice Agent will say and how it will interact with your callers.
You’ll start by choosing how the agent should greet callers. You can go with a predefined greeting—a set message the agent uses each time it picks up a call.
Or, choose a script-based personalised greeting. In this option, the agent analyses your scripts and crafts a greeting that feels more natural and relevant to the context—setting the right tone for the rest of the conversation. You can read more about the Greeting Mode here.
Once the greeting is set, it’s time to build the script. Just click the Add Script button to get started.
Note: The selected language is shown at the top of the screen. To ensure the AI agent works effectively, it's recommended to enter prompts in the script in the same language you selected on the previous page. Using a different language may affect the accuracy of the responses.
Here, you can add prompts. This helps ensure it collects all the relevant information you need from the caller.Once everything’s set up, just hit Next to move on to the next step.
Now, let’s set up the Knowledge Base—this is where your AI Voice Agent gets its information from.
You've already defined its personality ✅, given it a voice ✅, set the greeting ✅, and added the initial script ✅—great job!
Let’s say you’re building an FAQ agent to handle common questions about your product or service. You can provide the information in three ways:
Web Pages – Just add links, and the agent will pull info directly from those pages.
Text – Enter plain, simple text that the agent can refer to while answering.
Q&A – Add straightforward question-and-answer pairs to guide responses.
Note: You can add up to 300 URLs and 50FAQs per Voice Agent.
Once you’ve added your preferred knowledge base, just click Next to move forward.
Next up is actions. This is the place where you can configure even more human part of AI Voice Agent. Using this feature, you can configure your AI Voice Agent to perform certain actions during or after the call is completed.

Now it's time to assign a phone number to the AI Voice Agent you’ve created and configure a few advanced settings.
Assign Phone Number
To assign a phone number to your AI Voice Agent, just click the Assign Phone Numbers button. In the pop-up window, select the number you want to use and hit Assign—and you’re all set!
⚠️Important: Once you assign a JustCall number to your AI Voice Agent, its existing routing settings will be overridden by the AI Agent’s configuration.

Advanced Settings
Once you've selected a phone number and assigned it to your AI Voice Agent, you can customise its behavior and voice interaction style in the Advanced Settings section. These settings help make the agent feel more lifelike, thoughtful, and context-aware—perfect for handling a variety of caller profiles and use cases.Background Sound- Add continuous ambient noise (like a Call Center or a Convention Hall) to simulate a real office environment and make conversations feel more natural.
Smart Active Noise Cancellation- Blocks caller background noise to improve transcription—especially in noisy settings. May reduce recognition of soft voices or emotional tones.
Responsiveness
Controls how fast the agent replies:Low: Thoughtful pauses—ideal for seniors or slower-paced calls
High: Snappy replies—great for quick, transactional chats
Interruption Sensitivity
Sets how easily the agent stops when interrupted:Low: Ignores minor background noise
High: Stops at the slightest interruption—ideal for fast-paced talks
Agent Follow-Up
Define how often the agent should check in when the caller is silent (e.g., “Just checking if you’re still there?”).Timezone
Set the agent’s local timezone for accurate timestamps, reminders, and schedules.End Call on Silence
Automatically hangs up after a set period of inactivity (e.g., 10 minutes)—useful for voicemails or dropped calls.Maximum Call Duration

Once everything’s set, just click the Finish Setup button in the top-right corner—and you’re all done!
⚠️ Please Note:
Once activated, all incoming calls on the assigned number will be routed to the AI Voice Agent, and any existing call forwarding settings will be overridden.
A Voice Agent cannot be enabled without an assigned phone number. However, you can still test its functionality using the Test Voice Agent button.

Pay-As-You-Go – $0.99 per minute for each call. Charges are deducted from your JustCall Credits.
500 Min Bundle – 500 minutes included. Overage charged at $0.94/min. $470/month or $5,640/year (5% off from $495/$5,940). Overage deducted from JustCall credits.
1000 Min Bundle – 1000 minutes included. Overage charged at $0.89/min. $890/month or $10,680/year (10% off from $990/$11,880). Overage deducted from JustCall credits.
High Volume – Custom pricing available via Sales for teams with larger usage needs.

Can I use AI Voice Agent without a full JustCall phone system setup?
Yes, you can — but you’ll still need a JustCall subscription to make it work. Even if you’re not using the full JustCall phone system, you can still use the AI Voice Agent by forwarding calls to a JustCall number.Here’s how it works:
Take the number your customers usually call and set up call forwarding to a JustCall number.
On the JustCall number, make sure AI VoIce Agent is enabled.
Once calls are forwarded, AI VoIce Agent will pick them up and handle the conversation automatically.
Why do I still need a JustCall subscription?Because to use AI VoIce Agent, your calls need to reach a JustCall number — and getting that number requires a JustCall account.
In short:
This is a lighter way to use AI Voice Agent, but it still needs a JustCall number to work.
💡 While we recommend using the full JustCall setup for a smoother and more integrated experience, this workaround is a great alternative if that’s not an option right now.
Can I upgrade to a higher limit plan later?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time based on your usage needs.
