How to view your S3 footprint in AWS

This guide guides you to quickly view the storage footprint of Amazon S3 within your AWS account using the S3 Storage Lens, including metrics such as total storage and number of objects.

  1. Log in to the AWS Console and navigate to S3.
    ​

  2. In the left-hand menu, click on Storage Lens Dashboards.

  3. If no dashboard exists, click Create dashboard.

    • Use the default settings.

    • Provide a meaningful dashboard name.Once the dashboard is created, open it.

  4. Once the dashboard is created, open it.

  5. In the dashboard, you can now view your S3 footprint, including:

    • Total storage size.

    • Number of objects.

    • Additional usage and activity metrics (if configured).
