CloudSee Drive lets you search for files using tags — metadata labels assigned to your content. Tag Explorer provides a visual, tree-based way to browse, filter, and select tags to quickly find the files you need.
This guide walks you through how to access Tag Explorer, search by tags, manage tags on files, and verify new tags are searchable.
Sign In to CloudSee Drive
Access CloudSee Drive: Open your browser and navigate to CloudSee Drive.
Sign In: Enter your credentials and select the Sign In button to access your CloudSee Drive dashboard.
Open Tag Explorer
Select Your Bucket: From the CloudSee Drive dashboard, select the bucket you want to search.
Access Tag Explorer: Select Advanced Search, then choose Tag Explorer to open the tag browsing interface.
Browse and Filter Tags
Scroll the Tag Tree: The Tag Tree displays all available tag keys and their associated values. Scroll through the tree to explore the tags assigned to files in your bucket.
Filter the Tag Tree: To narrow the tree, type a keyword into the filter field. The Tag Tree updates in real time to show only matching tag keys.
Select Tags for Your Search
Select a Tag Key: Click a tag key to select all values underneath it. This is useful when you want to search broadly across every value for a given key.
Deselect a Tag Key: Click the tag key again to deselect all of its values at once.
Select Individual Tag Values: Click on specific tag values to include only those in your search. You can select multiple values across one or more tag keys.
Remove a Selected Tag: To remove a tag from your selection, delete it from the selected tags area. Your search updates to reflect the remaining selections.
Apply Your Search
Execute Your Search: Select the Apply button to run your tag search.
Review the Results: CloudSee Drive displays all files matching your selected tag criteria.
Manage Tags on a File
Edit a File's Tags: From the search results, select a file and choose Edit from the Actions menu to view and modify its tags.
Add a New Tag: Enter a new tag key and value, then select Update to save your changes.
Verify the Tag Was Saved: Choose Edit from the Actions menu again to confirm the new tag appears on the file.
Verify a New Tag Is Searchable
Open Tag Explorer Again: Select Advanced Search, then choose Tag Explorer to start a new search.
Search for the New Tag: Filter the Tag Tree for the tag key you just added, then select the new tag value.
Apply the Search: Select Apply. The file you tagged appears in the results, confirming the new tag is indexed and searchable.
Exit Tag Explorer
Close Tag Explorer: When finished, navigate to another section of CloudSee Drive or start a new search.
