Every object in Amazon S3 is stored in a bucket. Before you can access your data in S3 using CloudSee Drive, you must enable it with Amazon permissions. We do NOT require your credentials – you simply provide temporary credentials using an Amazon Resource Name (ARN) and AmazonS3FullAccess Policy.
Signing Up
Find the CloudSee Drive for Amazon S3 listing on the AWS Marketplace.
Select the View purchase options button.
Subscribe from the product listing by clicking the Subscribe button.
After subscribing, you will be asked to Set up your account.
Register with CloudSee Drive.
Please check your email. You must verify your email to activate CloudSee Drive.
Follow the Confirm my new CloudSee Drive account link.
Next, check your email for instructions on enabling access in your AWS account.
You should receive a Welcome email. The email contains a link that will initiate an automatic process to generate temporary access credentials for CloudSee Drive.
Creating the IAM Role for CloudSee Drive
The link should automatically open the AWS console on the CloudFormation Quick create stack page. Select the Create stack button.
Note: if you have multiple AWS accounts and are signed in, it will use the current account’s console – if you are not already signed in to AWS, you will be prompted to do so.
By checking the box in at the bottom of the page, you are authorizing CloudSee Drive to access your S3 buckets.
Note: If you ever wish to unauthorize CloudSee, you can delete this authorization (hence, temporary authorization).
2. Creation of the stack takes a moment. Once completed, the status will change from “in progress” to “complete” (you may need to refresh your browser).
Connecting Your New AWS Authorization to CloudSee
On the Outputs tab, you will find the key value needed to finish the connection. Copy the entire string from Value, then return to CloudSee Drive.
2. Select the option to Get Started.
3. Enter your credentials to Sign in.
4. Paste the value into the first field (IAM role ARN) and select the Update button.
5. You should automatically move into the main CloudSee Drive screen.
You’re all set!
