Creating the IAM Role for CloudSee Drive

  1. Check Your Email

Look for a Welcome Email from CloudSee Drive. The email contains a link that will initiate an automatic process to generate temporary access credentials for CloudSee Drive.

2. Launch the CloudFormation Stack

Click the link provided in the email. The link will open the AWS Management Console on the CloudFormation Quick Create Stack page.

3. Authorize CloudSee Drive

Scroll to the bottom of the page and check the box to allow CloudSee Drive access to your S3 buckets.

4. Click the "Create Stack" button.

Note: if you have multiple AWS accounts and are signed in, it will use the current account’s console – if you are not already signed in to AWS, you will be prompted to do so. By checking the box in at the bottom of the page, you are authorizing CloudSee Drive to access your S3 buckets.

Note: If you ever wish to unauthorize CloudSee, you can delete this authorization (hence, temporary authorization).

5. Wait for the Stack Creation to Complete

The creation process may take a moment. Refresh your browser until the stack status changes from "CREATE_IN_PROGRESS" to "CREATE_COMPLETE".

Connecting Your New AWS Authorization to CloudSee

  1. Go to the Outputs tab of the completed stack in the AWS Console.

Locate the Key Value (IAM Role ARN) and copy the entire string.

2. Go to https://drive.cloudsee.cloud/ and Sign In using your credentials.

3. Paste the copied IAM Role ARN into the required field and click the Update button.

4. You should now be redirected to the main CloudSee Drive interface.

5. You will also receive an email once your CloudSee Drive account is successfully connected to your AWS Account.

You’re all set! CloudSee Drive is now configured to access your S3 buckets.
