Individual rules, group rules, equipment access

Updated over a week ago

Each user has an individual profile, where you can assign them equipment and booking rules. Any equipment that is assigned directly to the user will be impacted by the individual booking rules set. You can also give users access to equipment via groups, with group booking rules for assigned equipment. The access point, individual or group, determines which rule(s) will be followed.

For example, if a user has access to Equipment X through Individual booking rules, and on their profile it says that the users has permission to edit their bookings, any booking the user creates on Equipment X they will be able to edit.

If the user is in Group 1, where they have access to Equipment Y and in the group settings they are not allowed to edit bookings, any booking created on Equipment Y will not be editable once confirmed. Regardless of what permission they have on their own profile.

The user is both allowed and not allowed to edit their bookings. It is the point of access to the items that determines the what rules the user will have to follow. Kindly note however, that a user is not permitted to have multiple points of access to the same equipment. Using the above example, as Equipment X is assigned to their individual profile the user cannot be added to a group that also contains Equipment X.
