We understand that people like different options as to how they receive their medication, this is why we currently offer the below collection/delivery options.
There is no additional cost to you or the NHS for using Co-op Health collection or delivery options.
> Free home delivery by Co-op Health
Your medication can be delivered to any address within the UK, and will arrive in plain, protective packaging. This includes fridge lines (insulin etc.) and controlled drugs.
> Collect from a Co-op Food store
You can choose to collect your medication from a Post Office or Co-op Health locker located in a selected Co-op Food store.
More about our packaging...
We have carefully chosen the delivery packaging that we use to ensure that it meets the high environmental standards you expect from Co-op. We use fully recycled/recyclable cardboard packaging, and in most cases our delivery packaging is completely plastic free.
Smart features, such as using wax rather than glue, and perforated cut out strips help us to minimise plastic use wherever possible. Where we do need to use plastic, for example filling materials or tape on larger parcels, we're working to convert these to plastic-free alternatives as soon as we can.
For products that need to be kept cool during transit, we use thoroughly tested and environmentally accredited Woolcool thermal packaging and water-based ice packs.
Please note that wherever possible we will dispense your medication in the original manufacturer packaging - we cannot influence the composition or materials used for this element of packaging within your delivery.
More about our delivery and collection options...
Most deliveries are made by Royal Mail using a tracked service. This means that you will receive a notification directly from Royal Mail advising of a 2-hour estimated delivery window. In most cases, the item will fit through your letterbox. If the item is too big for the letterbox, and you are not going to be at home to receive your delivery, you can use a link within the Royal Mail notification to:
- advise of a neighbour that you'd like to accept the delivery for you
- nominate a 'safe-place' to leave your delivery
- arrange a re-delivery to a more convenient time
or, alternatively, you can collect your item from your local delivery office. Royal Mail will keep your item for up to 30 days. Please note that if you order fridge lines, you need to make arrangements to receive these and put them into the fridge as soon as possible.
If you are collecting your medicines from one of our Co-op food stores, we'll let you know when it's ready to collect. If the collection point is at one of our Co-op Post Office counters, you'll need to bring photo-ID in line with Post Office guidance.
For deliveries of certain controlled drugs, you will be asked for a signature.
> Collect from any pharmacy
Pick up your prescription from any pharmacy in England. The local pharmacy that you chose will receive your prescription, but is not connected with Co-op Health in any way. Co-op receives no funding or financial gain for providing this option.
If you would like to suggest a delivery/collection option that we don't currently offer, please send us a message via the in-app messaging or email firstname.lastname@example.org
